"Incomplete Conversations" with Silent Theatre Company
Since I graduated and moved to Chicago, I’m constantly stumbling into projects that leave me inspired and fulfilled and happy in ways I never knew possible. Working with Silent Theatre has been no exception.
I barely knew what it meant when I was auditioning to be in this “site-specific, immersive” play, but boy was I in for a treat. Rehearsing was like a puzzle and a play at the same time- a whole new world of challenges and timing added a very specific layer to the process. To put it simply, the show is one big choose-your-own-adventure, and is meant to be seen multiple times to get the whole story.
Our play centers around a funeral for a small-town church pastor who passed too soon, and his big, dramatic family made up of opinionated sisters, traditional mothers, and hooligan teenagers.
I knew we were doing some cool, but have been BLOWN AWAY by the press we’re receiving. Thanks to The Chicago Reader (“what an astonishing play”), Picture This Post (amongst the Best Plays in Chicago), and Third Coast Review (3.5 our of 4 stars) for the rave reviews.
All of November, Thursdays through Saturdays at Tapestry Fellowship Church. For more info, www.silenttheatre.com
